Nutmeg, nutmeg, nutmeg. Another all around must have in my tool box of essential oils in the winter time. It has a spicy scent similar to clove and cinnamon. Like sweet orange, it has a brightening and uplifting effect, proven to work wonders at bringing light and warmth to the heaviness that can settle into the body in the darkest and shortest days of the year. It is a powerful oil, not to be taken lightly. Grating a pinch up and adding to pasta or quiches is one way I love to utilize its warm feeling in my belly and the kitchen. Or placing it on BL60 bilaterally is another way I can warm up fearful contractions, consolidating and softening from the inside out in a matter of seconds. It travels up the bladder meridian, relaxing diaphragms on its way, opening the heart and ends at the top of the head where it protects and insulates and brings a quietness to overactive, frayed neural pathways. I dilute it WAY down, like 1% with organic Jojoba oil. Less is better with Nutmeg.
